The primary focus of the MUUS Collection is to bring together American photography archives from the twentieth century. Their mission is to make visible exceptional photography archives through exhibitions, scholarship, donations, licensing, and the printing of images and books.
The combined art, archival, and research materials that make up the MUUS Collection ultimately serve to deepen the appreciation of how photography impacts society.
MUUS needed an elegant web presence to showcase their extensive archive of 20th century photography that was welcoming and engaging to new visitors as well as able to offer scholars an elevated experience.
Most importantly, they needed a website that was scalable and ready to grow in sync with the burgeoning collection. Minimal, Clean and Sophisticated were brand attributes that must be carried through in development.
The resulting website established a unique modern platform for MUUS and offered visitors completely new ways of engaging with artists’ work. Stylish and graceful full screen galleries of the artists work was developed as well as an integration with social media channels and newsletter.
Lastly, a polished and contemporary landing page was designed to offer visitors quick introductions to each artist represented and offer opportunities to quickly delve further into their respective careers.
